Everything you need to know about bubble foam

Bubble foam is a type of acoustic foam and is widely used as sound-absorbing material to create better acoustics in a space. Read here how you can apply it and what it is suitable for.

What is bubble foam and how does it work?

Bubble foam is a type of polyurethane foam that has been specially developed to absorb sound and improve the acoustic performance of a space. The distinctive bumps or nodules on the surface ensure effective damping of sound waves by breaking them up and dispersing them in different directions. This reduces reverberation and creates good acoustics in the room.

Where can you use dimple foam?

Egg foam is a versatile acoustic foam and is often used in:

    • Sound studios and recording studios: For optimising sound recording and playback.
    • Home cinemas – To eliminate unwanted echoes and reverberation in the space and enhance the listening experience.
    • Technical rooms and server rooms – For reducing sound reflections from equipment.

When a smooth finish is required and panels need to fit seamlessly together, pyramid foam can be a good alternative.

    What do we offer:

Within our range, we distinguish two variants: EASYfoam NP Plus and EASYfoam NP Premium. The difference lies in the colour, texture, and the dot pattern.

    The difference:
    • EASYfoam NP Plus is dark grey and has a medium bubble structure with a wavy pattern.

    • EASYfoam NP Premium is anthracite in colour and has a finer bubble structure with a pointed pattern. This foam also has an extra thickness. In addition to the 30 mm and 50 mm, it is also available in 80 mm.

The main distinction is the appearance; EASYfoam NP Premium offers a more luxurious and sleek finish, which provides an aesthetic advantage, especially for visible applications.

What thickness of bubble foam is suitable for your application?

Egg foam is available in different thicknesses, depending on the type of foam. You can choose from thicknesses of 30 mm, 50 mm, and 80 mm. The right thickness depends on the application and the type of sound you want to dampen.

    • 30 mm is ideal for absorbing speech frequencies and is often used in home studios and recording studios to reduce reverberation and improve acoustics.
    • 50 mm provides better damping at lower frequencies, making it suitable for applications such as sound insulation of household appliances, like washing machines and speakers.
    • 80 mm is the best choice for applications where maximum sound absorption is required. This thickness is only available in the EASYfoam Premium. This thicker foam is suitable for spaces with a heavy sound load, such as industrial applications or technical areas.

    Simple assembly

For a quick and efficient installation, self-adhesive bubble foam is a practical choice. Thanks to the self-adhesive backing, it can be easily applied to various surfaces without the need for additional glue or fastening materials. Both variants of our bubble foam come with a self-adhesive layer. Moreover, the sound-absorbing foam can be easily cut to size with a Stanley knife or band saw. Additionally, we offer custom solutions to make the installation as straightforward as possible. Please contact us for more information!
